Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh

Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh completed his Ph.D. (Production Engg) from BIT Mesra, Ranchi, M.Tech. (Production Engg) from IIT Varanasi (Formerly IT BHU) and B.E. (Mechanical Engg) from Savitribai Phule Pune University. His teaching & research areas of interest are material processing technologies, metal forming of sintered, cellular, foam, polymer and metal matrix composites, competitive manufacturing strategies, cleaner manufacturing technologies, DFX methodologies, quality engineering and quality management. He had guided 5 Ph.D scholars and 25 Master’s Dissertation and had published / presented more than 100 research articles in the international & national journals, conferences and seminars. He has published 3 books in the area of material processing technologies and is also Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He served as Director (Industry Engagements) and Dean (Training & Placements) since 2011 at KIIT. He is a Former Dean of School of Mechanical Engg at KIIT from 2009 to 2011. Prior to this, he served BIT Mesra, Ranchi as Assoc. Professor in Dept. of Production Engg. Currently, he is also Professor at School of Mechanical Engg, KIIT.

Welcome to Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS). It has been seven years the college was established by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, a great visionary and founder of KIIT & KISS. It gives me great pleasure to see KIDS settle down well with both under graduate (BDS) and post graduate (MDS) studies in just seven years of its inception. Today the college stands proud as one of the premier dental college and hospital in India providing world-class dental education to students and advanced and affordable dental care to the people of Odisha.
KIDS boasts of having a state-of-the-art infrastructure, fully committed and experienced faculties, competent administrative staffs, smart air-conditioned lecture theatres, huge auditorium, a resourceful library and a well equipped hospital setting and modern laboratories.

From the Vice Principal’s Desk
Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences is one among very few dental colleges in the country that provides almost all of the streams of dental education under one roof. Ranging from the Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree course ,right to applying research skills for obtaining a Doctorate of Philosophy in Dentistry. The college also going to offer a range of short term certificate courses in specific aspects of dentistry like Maxillofacial aesthetic dentistry , Lasers, Microscopic Endodontics and implantology to hone the skills of the students. The consistent academic excellence of the students through the training imparted is reflected every year in the list of University Ranks.
The stronghold of our institution is the highly competent and dedicated teaching faculty who strive hard to implement our vision and mission. Their academic achievements, research accomplishments, and consistent yearning to keep themselves up to date is what makes the journey of learning for the students more fruitful and enjoyable.
It is our constant endeavour to instil in our students the qualities of self- discipline, commitment, and integrity, which will ensure that they will be able to build successful professional lives for themselves. It is important to mould our students into smart, confident, people. But much more important is making them sensitive, caring, and responsible Dental surgeons. Towards this goal we have been organising public health awareness and dental health treatment camps, through which we have reached lakhs of people across the Odisha state . We provide quality clinical training to our students and prepare them to practice dentistry with the knowledge and understanding of many different patient populations, dental specialties, and varied practice settings. This education occurs in an ethical and professional environment in which quality dental care is provided to our patients. Our students are also encouraged to take part in various co-curricular, activities as well as sporting events.
Being located in the capital city of Odisha we have a large pool of patients who seek care at our hospital. Our institution also has affiliation with Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) a premier medical college & hospital of India which is specialized in cancer care, geriatric care, emergency and critical care, mental health and neurological care, among many others. By posting our students in such institution we help them augmenting their knowledge and skills.
