Bhubaneswar has collaborated with the HMV Driver Training Institute, Chhatia. Following the philosophy of the “Art of Giving” initiated by our Founder, Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, under his leadership a free dental screening camp was organized on 06.06.2024, at the driver training institute. On the occasion of the World No Tobacco Day, a total of 200 patients were screened and referred to a tertiary institute for further complex treatment procedures. An awareness program was conducted to educate them about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption, emphasizing its role in causing precancerous lesions and leading to oral cancer. The patients took a pledge to quit tobacco and received education on maintaining oral hygiene, followed by pamphlet distribution. Some patients were diagnosed with conditions such as Oral Submucous Fibrosis and Tobacco Pouch Keratosis and were referred for necessary treatment and tobacco cessation counselling at the tertiary institute.
