The Department of Public Health Dentistry of Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Bhubaneswar has collaborated with the HMV Driver Training Institute, Chhatia. Following the philosophy of the “Art of Giving” initiated by our Founder, Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, under his leadership, this initiative was led by Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi [Director (Administration)] and, Principal Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar.
a free dental screening and treatment camp was organized on 18.11.2023, as per the regular dental checkup camps to be conducted at the driver training institute.
Basic dental treatments like scaling and restorations were carried out among 100 screened patients in the mobile dental van and some of them were referred to the tertiary institute for further complex treatment procedures.
patients were diagnosed with Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF) with Tobacco Pouch Keratosis. They were referred to KIDS for tobacco cessation counselling and other necessary treatment.
