Following the philosophy of the “Art of Giving” initiated by our Founder, Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, under his leadership, a Mega Health Check-up camp was organised by the NSS unit of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar at Biripata High School, Jajpur on 3.11.2024.
It was a wonderful privilege to conduct the camp in the presence of our Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
The screened patients mostly were diagnosed with chronic generalised periodontitis, grossly decayed teeth, tooth wear (generalised attrition and abrasion) and stain and calculus deposits.
The team performed dental extractions and scaling procedures in the mobile dental van, offering on-site relief for patients and referring more complex cases to a tertiary care institute for complex treatment procedures.
The camp provided free consultations and free medications, which benefited the patients. The patients received education on ways to avoid dental decay, gum diseases, cessation of tobacco use, proper teeth brushing methods, maintaining proper oral hygiene, and good dental care practises.
