A free dental checkup camp was organized for the Security Guards.
The NSS Unit , Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Bhubaneswar conducted the camp on 5.11.2024. the screening and treatment procedures were carried out. Out of the 147 patients assessed, 48 reported to the Department of Public Health Dentistry for the free treatment procedures. Treatments provided included oral prophylaxis procedures and root canal treatment. All consultations were done and 43 follow-up appointments were scheduled for further treatments. In addition to dental treatments, the camp identified few patients with tobacco,pouch keratosis, Leukoplakia and Oral submucous fibrosis, a condition often linkedm to tobacco use. These patients received counseling on the risks associated with tobacco and the health benefits of quitting.
