Following the philosophy of the “Art of Giving” initiated by our Founder, Prof.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, under his leadership, a Mega Health Check-up camp was organised by NSS unit of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar at Seshadev Basanti Government, High School, Bhubaneswarpur, Panikoili, Jajpur district on 20.07.2024.
The children screened were mostly diagnosed with dental caries including early childhood caries (ECC), chronic generalised gingivitis, grossly decayed teeth. The findings in adult patients were calculus deposits and extrinsic stains, decayed teeth, tooth wear. Total screening done – 238
The camp benefitted the patients with free consultations. All patients were educated and advised about the proper oral hygiene maintenance, good food habits. Proper tooth brushing techniques were demonstrated using a model and hands-on approach.
